Initially I wanted to go away for the weekend with the "girls" , along with a little exercise which you never seem to get on a regular girls weekend!  What I took away from this weekend was more than I could have imagined.  After having a biggest loser Jillian moment on the mountain, I took away a strength I didn't know I had.  I had wonderful roommates, we stayed up late and talked, & laughed, we connected.  Kirsten was an awesome inspiration for realizing the stress I was carrying, after a long talk with her while hiking.  The yoga class was phenomenal and cleansing. I can't say enough to my friends and family about this weekend but I don't have to!  They can see it!!!

My initial expectation for the retreat was for me to have a "fitness holiday". Workout hard and lose weight...
What I didn't expect was the many "aha moments" I experienced. It was more than just fun with exercise, it was an unforgettable holiday with lovely women.
We shared, laughed, cried, talked, ate incredible meals, lounged by the pool and bonded. The hike and yoga, were both healing and spiritual for me. Everyone took something different away with them. My gift was realizing that I needed to slow down. I am only racing with myself and I can now stop. This retreat was good for my soul.

I went to a Be More Fitness Retreat in Canmore and absolutely loved it.  I love the mountains and that was the first thing that drew me to originally sign up, location, location, location!  I had so much fun.  My girlfriend and I were roomed with another couple ladies that were awesome.  We didn't know each other before the weekend but will for sure keep in touch - good job on the room-matching!  The first night we had a potluck get-together.  Have you ever gone to a "bad" potluck?  I laughed so hard I was crying - we really got to know a lot about each other, as it was probably the first time meeting everyone.  Saturday we did a morning Bootcamp and then off for a hike.   The guide was very knowledgeable and a pleasure to meet.  The purchased boxed lunch was the best lunch I've ever eaten.  The weather was perfect - not too hot, not too cold.  I think we were all pretty tired from the fun and laughs the night before and the day hike we all seemed to head to our rooms early.  Sunday morning we did a Bootcamp and then a yoga session.  I have never "attended" a yoga session and it was quite amazing.   I will definitely attend future retreats and look forward to rock-climbing and snow shoeing!
The retreat for me was an awakening for both my body and soul!  The balance of physical challenges met with relaxation time is what I enjoyed the most.  I couldn't tell if my core got a better workout from our amazing hike or all the laughing we did!   It was topped off with a beautiful location and fantastic food.  Looking forward to doing it again.
